What's the Big Deal About STEM?

Research shows the better the math and science scores of a nation, the more economically sound it is. STEM is directly tied to innovation, GDP, and more!

People polled Think the US is ranked number one. In fact it is ranked #38. We are no longer the leader in STEM! This is a problem.

The US is suffering from a limited number of individuals available to join STEM fields or have STEM literacy compounded by a high rate of retirement of current STEM workforce folks!

STEM fields are under represented by women and minorities. Yet inclusion of multiple perspectives is key to solving problems, creating better designs, reaching more of the population, and generally making the world a better place!

Check out this great report on why there are so few women and minorities in STEM, not only does it share research results on socialization and attitudes, it provides activities and suggestions we can all engage in to increase our inclusion and STEM!

STEM is fun, exciting, and important! If you use math and science, and encourage diversity and inclusion, YOU can be a part of the STEM solution!
