The inspiration for this blog came from students I have mentored, experiences I have had, and a deep desire to share the beauty of science, technology, engineering, math, diversity, global community, and girl power. It started years ago, when I mentored several students. They said they hated math, but they loved shoes, fashion, and other topics. There is a lot of math, physics, and science behind the perfect smile, the color and cut of one’s dress, art, and items that are not stereotypical science topics. Over time and lots of chatter to bring these topics together, these students realized they could do math, and they were really good at it! And they liked it! It is my hope that this blog will be a place for girls who love science, (even if they don't know it yet); a place to talk about science, style, and making a positive difference in the world. I also hope that educators will come here often to check out the cool resources, books, programs, and more that I have found. I invite everyone to participate, and ask you keep an open mind and a kind heart.

About Me: I have a PhD in Vision Science. I am a scientist and STEM advocate. I am a girl who loves to study engineering, international relations, diversity and inclusion, and I am passionate about facilitating positive social change. I love my family, pets, traveling, and photography. I have done modeling for charities and I enjoy all things functional art, which includes shoes, clothes, in addition to cars, engines, rockets, and the like. I see STEM in everyday life and I find it so fun! Most of all, I love sharing knowledge and connecting people with possibilities. I hope this will help you in some way :)
